Ingredients List
-
6 slices bacon
-
2 (16 ounce) cans baked beans
-
1 onion, diced
-
1 Granny Smith apple - peeled, cored and diced
-
1 cup packed brown sugar
-
¾ cup ketchup
-
¼ cup yellow mustard
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until most of the fat is rendered, but the bacon remains flexible. Transfer to paper towels to drain, then set aside.
In a 9-inch square baking dish, mix together baked beans, chopped onion, diced apple, brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard until everything is well combined. Arrange the bacon slices on top.
Bake in the preheated oven, uncovered, until the bacon becomes crispy and the beans are bubbling, approximately 45 minutes.

Cooking Tip
If you prefer, you can cook the bacon in the microwave instead of on the stovetop.
