Cheesy Baked Scalloped Potatoes

1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

1 ¼ cups milk, or more as needed

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

6 large potatoes, peeled and sliced

1 medium onion, diced
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 2-quart baking dish.

In a bowl, whisk together the condensed soup, milk, and pepper until smooth.

Arrange layers of potatoes and onions in the greased casserole dish. Pour the soup mixture over the top, making sure it covers the potatoes and onions. Add extra milk if necessary to cover.

Cover the dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender. Stir halfway through for even cooking.
Cooking Tip
You can use any kind of milk, but avoid using cream or half-and-half for this recipe.
