Creamy Habanero Pepper Pasta
Ingredients Needed
-
1 (8 ounce) package cavatappi pasta
-
1 teaspoon butter
-
1 teaspoon olive oil
-
1 medium shallot, chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, diced
-
1 dried habanero pepper, chopped
-
2 cups heavy cream
-
1 large tomato, diced
-
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon black pepper
-
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Cooking Instructions
-
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until tender but firm to the bite, about 8-10 minutes.
-
While the pasta cooks, melt butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add shallots, garlic, and habanero pepper. Sauté until lightly browned and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
-
In a saucepan, bring cream to a simmer over medium heat. Stir in the shallot mixture and diced tomatoes. Add flour and black pepper, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 5-8 minutes. Mix in Parmesan cheese. Remove from heat and let sit until pasta is done.
-
Drain pasta and serve on plates. Spoon the sauce generously over the pasta.
