½ teaspoon garlic salt

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

8 cups water, or as needed
Instructions

In a slow cooker, combine beans, ham, brown sugar, onion powder, parsley, garlic salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add enough water to cover the mixture by about 2 inches. Cover and cook on Low for 12 hours, stirring occasionally.
