Crockpot Pork Roast
Ingredients List
-
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
-
1 (3 pound) pork sirloin roast
-
1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
-
2 tablespoons butter, or to taste
-
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, or as needed
-
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Season the pork roast with the soup mix, then place it in the slow cooker. Top with cranberry sauce, cover, and cook on Low until the pork is just pink in the middle, about 8 to 10 hours. The internal temperature should reach at least 145°F (63°C). Transfer the roast to a platter, keeping the juices in the slow cooker.
-
In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and whisk in the flour to make a paste. Add the reserved cooking juices from the slow cooker and whisk continuously until the gravy thickens and lightens in color, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then serve with the roast.
Cooking Tip
For an easier prep, simply mix the onion soup mix with the cranberry sauce and pour the entire mixture over the roast, instead of applying them separately.
