Grandma's Homemade Egg Noodles
Ingredients List
-
1 large egg, beaten
-
2 tablespoons milk
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour, or more as needed
Instructions
Prepare all the ingredients before starting to cook.
In a bowl, combine the egg, milk, and salt. Gradually add sifted flour, stirring until a dough begins to form. If needed, add more flour bit by bit until the dough comes together. Divide the dough into two equal portions.
Dust a clean surface with flour and roll each dough ball out to your preferred thickness. Allow the rolled dough to rest for 20 minutes.
Slice the dough into strips and spread them out to dry. Lightly dust with flour to prevent sticking. Let them dry for around 2 hours.
Cook the noodles in boiling salted water or a hot soup until they are tender, approximately 10 minutes.
Helpful Tip
For heartier noodles, add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder when incorporating the flour in Step 1.
