Marzipan Fruit Creations
Ingredients Needed
-
2 cups confectioners' sugar
-
2 cups finely ground blanched almonds
-
2 egg whites
-
1 tablespoon brandy
-
¼ cup confectioners' sugar, or as needed
-
assorted food coloring
Instructions
In a blender, combine powdered sugar, almonds, egg whites, and brandy. Blend until the mixture comes together and forms a marzipan dough. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 12 hours until firm. If the marzipan isn’t set, chill for an additional 6 to 12 hours until it reaches the desired consistency.
Take the marzipan out of the fridge. Lightly dust your hands with powdered sugar and knead the marzipan for about a minute. Divide it into portions based on the number and types of fruits you want to create. Add food coloring to each portion as desired. To shape the fruits, start with a 1-inch ball of marzipan and mold it to resemble the fruit, adding details and textures to match each variety.
