Mom's Easy Stovetop Pork Ribs
Ingredients Needed
-
10 pork spareribs
-
½ cup soy sauce
-
10 sprigs fresh parsley, divided
-
10 cloves garlic, crushed
-
1 lime, juiced
-
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
-
1 tablespoon dried oregano
-
2 bay leaves
-
ground black pepper to taste
-
2 limes, cut into wedges
Instructions
-
Place spareribs in a large pot and add enough water to fully submerge them. Stir in soy sauce, 3/4 of the parsley, garlic, lime juice, rosemary, oregano, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer uncovered until the liquid evaporates completely, about 25 minutes.
-
Remove the bay leaves, then continue cooking the spareribs, turning them occasionally, until they are nicely browned. Use a spatula to scrape the browned bits and softened garlic from the bottom of the pot and mix them with the ribs—this will help the garlic infuse into the meat. Once done, transfer the ribs to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
-
Season with black pepper, and garnish with lime wedges and the remaining parsley before serving.
Cooking Tips
If you're using fresh herbs, be sure to double the quantity compared to dried herbs.
Cilantro can be substituted for parsley if you prefer.
