Parmesan-Sage Crusted Pork Chops
Ingredients List
-
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
1 pinch ground black pepper
-
1 egg, lightly beaten
-
¾ cup Italian bread crumbs
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 ½ teaspoons rubbed sage
-
½ teaspoon grated lemon zest
-
2 boneless pork chops
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 tablespoon butter
Cooking Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a 7x11-inch baking dish.
-
In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, and pepper. In another shallow dish, whisk an egg. In a third shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, sage, and lemon zest. Coat each pork chop by pressing it into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the egg, then press it into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it sticks. Repeat with the second pork chop and place them on a plate without stacking.
-
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the pork chops for approximately 4 minutes per side, then transfer them to the prepared baking dish.
-
Bake the pork chops in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the center is no longer pink. The internal temperature should reach at least 145°F (63°C), as measured by an instant-read thermometer.
