Pork Chops in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients List
-
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, or as needed
-
4 pork chops
-
½ cup all-purpose flour, or as needed
-
1 onion, chopped
-
1 bell pepper - chopped, your color choice
-
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder, or more to taste
-
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Heat enough oil to coat the bottom of a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dredge the pork chops in flour, then add them to the skillet, browning both sides well. Once browned, remove the chops and set them aside.
-
Add the onion and bell pepper to the pan, cooking and stirring for 5 minutes or until they’re nearly tender. Return the pork chops to the skillet and pour in the tomato sauce. Let the sauce come to a gentle simmer before reducing the heat to low.
-
Let the mixture simmer for 30 minutes, seasoning with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
