Pork Chops with Apples and Raisins Delight
Ingredients Needed
-
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-
4 (6 ounce) pork chops, 1 1/2- to 2-inches thick
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon sage (Optional)
-
2 medium tart apples, cored and sliced
-
¼ cup brown sugar
-
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
-
1 cup hot water
-
1 tablespoon white vinegar
-
½ cup raisins
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Season the pork chops with salt and sage for flavor.
-
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the chops on both sides, about 3 minutes per side. Once browned, transfer the chops to a baking dish, reserving the drippings. Layer apple slices on top of the chops and sprinkle with brown sugar.
-
Add flour to the reserved drippings in the skillet, stirring until smooth. Gradually whisk in water and vinegar, cooking over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Stir in raisins, then pour the mixture over the pork chops. Cover the dish with aluminum foil or a lid.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, removing the foil during the last 20 minutes of baking.
