Pork Chops with Savory Dirty Rice
Ingredients List
-
2 tablespoons cooking oil
-
4 (6 ounce) pork chops
-
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
-
3 cups water
-
1 cup uncooked white rice
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Brown the pork chops on both sides, then remove them and set aside. Keep the drippings in the skillet. Add the onion soup mix and water, stirring until well combined and heated through.
-
Spread the rice evenly in a 2-quart casserole dish. Place the browned pork chops on top of the rice. Pour the hot mixture from the skillet over the pork and rice, and cover the dish.
-
Bake the covered dish in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Then, uncover and continue baking until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), about 15 more minutes. The pork should no longer be pink in the center.
