Quick and Easy Haluski

Ingredients List
-
1 pound bacon
-
1 onion, diced
-
1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
-
1 head cabbage, sliced
-
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Cut the bacon into small pieces with kitchen scissors and fry in a large pan over medium heat, stirring frequently until crispy, around 10 minutes. Add the onion to the pan and cook until softened, about 5 more minutes; remove the bacon and onion, but keep the bacon fat in the pan.
Bring a large pot of water, lightly salted, to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 5 minutes. Drain the noodles.
Add the bacon and onion mixture along with the drippings to the pot used for the noodles. Stir in the cabbage, ensuring it’s well-coated with the drippings. Cover and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender. Gently mix in the noodles and season with salt and pepper to taste.
