Quick and Spicy Mongolian Beef

Ingredients List
-
¼ cup soy sauce
-
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
-
1 tablespoon sesame oil
-
2 teaspoons white sugar
-
1 tablespoon minced garlic
-
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes (Optional)
-
1 pound beef flank steak, thinly sliced
-
1 tablespoon peanut oil
-
2 large green onions, thinly sliced
Cooking Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Toss the beef in the marinade, then cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
Heat peanut oil in a wok or large nonstick pan over high heat. Add green onions to the hot oil and stir-fry for 5 to 10 seconds. Remove the beef from the marinade and add it to the wok with the green onions, discarding the marinade. Stir-fry until the beef turns brown and is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
