Round Steak with Rich Gravy

Ingredients List
-
½ cup all-purpose flour
-
2 teaspoons ground paprika
-
2 teaspoons onion powder
-
¾ teaspoon garlic powder
-
3 tablespoons oil
-
2 pounds beef round steak, cut into serving-size pieces
-
½ cup diced onion
-
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
-
1 cup beef broth
-
1 cup water
-
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Cooking Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
-
In a resealable plastic bag, combine flour, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Shake to mix. Add beef pieces one at a time and shake to coat evenly.
-
Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown the beef on both sides, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove beef and transfer to a warm baking dish.
-
In the same Dutch oven, sauté the onion in the beef drippings until soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in cream of chicken soup, beef broth, water, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat.
-
Pour the gravy over the beef in the baking dish. Cover with foil.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, until the beef is tender.
Chef’s Tip
For a faster cook time, try using a pressure cooker and set it for 50 minutes.
