Savory Mushroom Stuffing

Ingredients Needed

1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced

6 tablespoons butter

1 cup diced onion

1 cup chopped celery

1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

12 cups dried bread crumbs

1 ½ cups hot chicken broth

2 eggs, beaten
-
2 cups diced apple without peel

¼ cup chopped parsley
Instructions

Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish with butter. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Clean, pat dry, and quarter the mushrooms. In a large skillet, melt the butter and sauté the mushrooms, onion, and celery for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, then stir in poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine bread crumbs with broth and eggs. Add the sautéed mushroom mixture, apples, and parsley, then stir to combine. Transfer the mixture into the prepared casserole dish.

Cover the dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes. Remove the cover and continue baking for another 15 minutes to allow the top to brown.
