Savory Pork Chops
Ingredients
-
6 pork chops
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
3 tablespoons butter
-
1 onion, chopped
-
1 clove garlic, minced
-
¾ cup chicken broth
-
1 bay leaf
-
1 cup sour cream
-
2 teaspoons paprika
Instructions
-
Sauté the onion and garlic in hot butter. Once done, remove them from the skillet. Trim any excess fat from the pork chops, then season with salt and pepper. Brown the chops in the skillet and drain the excess fat.
-
Reduce the heat, add a bay leaf and chicken broth to the pan. Cover and cook on low heat for 1 hour. Once done, transfer the chops to a serving plate but keep them warm.
-
In the same skillet, heat the remaining juices and reduce by half. Stir in the sour cream, onion-garlic mixture, and paprika, mixing well. Heat through, but avoid boiling. Pour the sauce over the pork chops and serve.
