1 (18 ounce) bottle BBQ sauce, divided

Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, chili powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the rib tips and toss to ensure they are evenly coated. Let the mixture sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.

Place the coated ribs in a slow cooker. In a medium bowl, mix 3/4 of the BBQ sauce with liquid smoke until fully blended. Pour this mixture over the ribs. Cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours, or until the ribs are tender. Position the oven rack about 6 inches from the broiler and preheat. Line a baking sheet or broiler pan with aluminum foil.

Transfer the ribs to the prepared tray and coat with the remaining BBQ sauce.
