Spaghetti with Garlic-Infused White Clam Sauce

1 pound spaghetti

½ cup olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon dried parsley

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon dried oregano

¼ teaspoon dried basil

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

2 (6.5 ounce) cans minced clams, with juice

2 tablespoons grated Romano cheese
Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in the water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet al dente, about 12 minutes.

While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until golden. Stir in butter, parsley, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and black pepper until the butter melts. Add the clams along with some of their liquid, heating through.

Drain the spaghetti and toss it with the clam sauce. Top with freshly grated Romano cheese.
