The Crispiest Fried Chicken Ever

Ingredients List
-
1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
-
1 large egg
-
seasoning salt to taste
-
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
-
½ cup all-purpose flour
-
½ cup cornstarch
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
oil for frying
Instructions
In a shallow bowl, mix condensed soup, egg, and seasoning salt (be cautious as the soup already contains salt). Dip the chicken into the mixture and ensure it's fully coated. Set aside for later use.
In a resealable plastic bag, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add chicken pieces one at a time, seal the bag, and shake to coat. If needed, add more flour and cornstarch in equal proportions.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375°F (190°C), ensuring there’s enough oil to fully submerge the chicken pieces.
Transfer the coated chicken to a plate and let it rest until the coating firms up (this step is essential for achieving a crispy texture when fried). Once the coating is set, test the oil by dropping in a small piece of the coating; it’s ready when it begins to fry immediately.
Fry the chicken in batches in the hot oil until fully cooked and the juices run clear, about 7 to 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Note from the Editor:
We’ve calculated the nutritional impact of frying oil based on a 10% retention rate after cooking. Keep in mind, the actual amount may vary depending on factors such as cooking time, temperature, ingredient density, and the type of oil used.
