This 3-Ingredient Airy Cheesecake Is the Dream Dessert You've Been Craving
Craving the taste of classic cheesecake but short on time? I’m excited to share my latest cheesecake discovery—the Air Cheesecake! This mock cheesecake comes together in just five minutes with three simple ingredients, and it’s so creative, it’ll definitely impress your guests.
I got inspired to try this recipe after seeing emmymade feature it on her YouTube channel, but it turns out this Air Cheesecake recipe actually originated on boxes of Philadelphia cream cheese in Japan. Now, while it may not taste exactly like traditional cheesecake, if you’re looking for a fast and easy dessert, this twist on the classic will definitely hit the spot. The texture is light and mousse-like, much airier than the dense, custardy New York-style cheesecake, so you might find yourself going back for more! (Or maybe that’s just me.)
With a flavor reminiscent of a lighter cream cheese frosting, this would be amazing on top of cakes, cupcakes, stuffed into cannoli shells, or as a dip for fresh fruit like strawberries or Biscoff cookies. You can even pipe it into a store-bought graham cracker crust for a no-fuss, shareable 'cheesecake pie.' It's subtle enough to blend with any cheesecake flavor you desire, such as Oreo, chocolate, or lemon.
How to Prepare the 3-Ingredient Air Cheesecake
- 100 grams cream cheese, softened (about 3.5 ounces)
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 200 grams cold whipping cream (about ¾ cup plus 1 tablespoon)
- Optional: piping bag
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the cream cheese and sugar until fully combined.
- In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream with a hand or stand mixer on medium-high speed for about 2 minutes, until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the whipped cream using a spatula until smooth. If needed, briefly mix for another 20 seconds to combine.
- Optional: For serving, transfer the mixture to a piping bag and pipe into 6 individual portions. Serve right away.
