16 Enchanting Blue Ridge Mountain Cabins Available for Rent on Airbnb and Vrbo
The United States boasts several magnificent mountain ranges. The Sierra Nevadas dominate the West Coast, while the Rockies stretch across the central western region. In the East, within the expansive Appalachian mountain range that runs from Maine to northern Alabama, the Blue Ridge Mountains stand out as a quintessential American destination, celebrated for its famous bluegrass music, two national parks, and scenic road trip routes.
As per USGS, the Blue Ridge Mountains extend from southern Pennsylvania through Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, concluding in northern Georgia and South Carolina. However, most visitors to the Blue Ridge Mountains often explore Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee and North Carolina, with the picturesque Blue Ridge Parkway linking these two national parks along a 469-mile scenic route.
Like any mountain destination, the Blue Ridge Mountains offer plenty of camping options and lodge-style accommodations. But for those who desire the comforts of a hotel combined with the seclusion of camping in the woods, this curated selection of Blue Ridge Mountain cabins available on Airbnb or Vrbo across Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia is perfect for you.
Each cabin boasts a rating of 4.9/5 or higher on Airbnb or 9.8/10 or higher on Vrbo. Moreover, all listed Airbnbs are managed by Superhosts and are included in Airbnb’s Guest Favorites collection, indicating an average host cancellation rate of just 1 percent and an incident rate of less than 1 percent.

Sanctuary by Earth & Sky Dwellings
This Blue Ridge Mountain retreat is somewhat of a star in the treehouse community: Its creation was featured on a 2017 episode of DIY Network’s The Treehouse Guys. Just 10 minutes from downtown Asheville, this Airbnb Plus boasts two levels of decks—one equipped with rocking chairs—offering views of the surrounding white oaks and distant mountains. Part of the Earth & Sky Dwellings collection, superhosts Caroline and Mike also manage six other unique properties, including nearby treehouses like Wizards Hollow and the Aerie, each with its own charm.

Raven Rock Treehouse
“This is 50 feet up (and 65 steps) to pure canopy living,” wrote Airbnb guest Todd Alan Breland in his Instagram post about his visit. (His photo above was among the most-liked images on Airbnb’s Instagram in 2021.) Accessible via a dirt and gravel road—four-wheel drive is necessary—this property is situated on a 40-acre wildlife sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While it may seem secluded, it’s just a 10-mile drive from the Asheville airport. However, keep in mind that you are off-grid, meaning there’s no electricity, and the restroom is a Porta-Potty located on-site. What this treehouse Airbnb may lack in luxury, it compensates for with breathtaking mountain views. If you rise early enough, you might catch a glimpse of owls, bobcats, falcons, and more.
