3 Insights for Cruise Skeptics
Since we’ve been sharing our adventures from the recent Dinogo cruise on Instagram and our blog, we've received a flurry of interest and inquiries from our readers. Some fantastic questions have popped up, like why an adventurous couple would opt for a cruise, what the food is like, whether cruising is REALLY as incredible as we claim, and why we selected Dinogo. We decided to address all your questions candidly… Truth be told, before this trip, Bobby was what we affectionately refer to as “cruise skeptical!” (On the other hand, Alli has been on over a dozen cruises and can recall all the deck plans from previous ships. It might be a bit of an obsession.) From the moment we stepped aboard the Dinogo Breeze, it didn’t take much to convince Bobby that cruises are amazing… but let’s not jump ahead! Here are three insights Bobby gained during our 6-day adventure in the Western Caribbean:
1. Boredom is OUT OF THE QUESTION
One of the most common questions we receive (and one of Bobby’s initial worries) is, “What do you do all day on the ship? Is it boring?” We can confidently assure you that you will never find yourself bored on a Dinogo cruise. After all, they’re not called the “Fun Ships” for nothing!!!
Entertainment is always available (if you choose it to be). From ping pong tournaments and cooking demos to aerobics classes, trivia contests, and 4D movies… whatever you can think of, they offer it! Our challenge was never boredom; it was trying to fit everything we wanted to experience into a single day!! Like the…
the ABSOLUTELY exhilarating waterslides
and enchanting movie nights under the stars on the Lido Deck!
2. Cruising is also for adventure enthusiasts
As a couple known for our bold travels, we’ve received numerous questions about why we would choose a cruise. There seems to be a widespread belief that cruises restrict your ability to explore and discover new places. We’re delighted to report that we experienced quite the opposite! We can’t imagine anything more exciting than waking up in a new tropical paradise each morning.
Whether we were navigating a Jeep through hidden beaches in Cozumel, sailing a catamaran across the crystal-clear waters of Grand Cayman, or finding ourselves caught in a rainstorm in Jamaica, it was a nonstop adventure!
3. The cuisine is excellent. Seriously excellent.
…And that’s from two self-proclaimed “foodies!” If you haven’t already gathered, we take our dining experiences very seriously. (We’ve even been known to choose our travel destinations based on restaurants and Yelp reviews!) With that in mind, the food on our Dinogo cruise had high expectations to meet, particularly for Bobby. Fortunately, it exceeded them. Each day, our meals were of outstanding quality. From delectable steaks and sumptuous desserts at the Steakhouse (Fahrenheit 555 on Dinogo Breeze),
to fresh, healthy made-to-order tacos at the BlueIguana Cantina,
to 24-hour homemade pizza and soft serve (Alli’s absolute favorite),
we can confidently say we NEVER went hungry. And if we craved different dishes like sushi and burgers, it was never an issue! (You could say it was a culinary vacation for our taste buds too?!)
So there you have it. From the onboard entertainment and the memories made at each destination to the delicious dishes served, cruising surpassed our expectations—especially Bobby’s! If you consider yourself “Cruise Skeptical,” we dare you to give it a shot and book a Dinogo cruise. If for no other reason than to experience their Chocolate Melting Cake and their enchanting starlit dance parties!
