Since the debut of Ted Lasso in 2020, the show has showcased the charmingly optimistic football coach who journeys across the ocean to revive a floundering football team in Britain. The series, filled with humorous one-liners and uplifting themes, launched just as the pandemic began, providing much-needed joy to viewers.

Regrettably, we are just weeks away from the final episode of the acclaimed Apple TV+ series, with its grand finale scheduled for May 31. Although the football team is fictional, many of the locations featured in the show are very real. A significant portion of Ted Lasso was filmed in the authentic setting of Richmond, England. Richmond Green

Actual location: Richmond Green

This 12-acre park, featuring expansive grassy spaces and bordered by historic buildings like Richmond Palace and the Richmond Theater, is a recurring backdrop in the series. It's the site of Dr. Sharon Fieldstone's biking mishap, where Roy Kent coaches the West London Under 9 Girls team, and it forms part of Ted and Coach Beard's daily journey to and from the stadium.

The Crown & Anchor

Actual location: The Prince’s Head

This centuries-old English pub features prominently in most episodes, although it is officially referred to as the Prince’s Head. In both the show and real life, it serves as a social hub for football enthusiasts, sports fans, and locals alike, who can enjoy evenings filled with darts, chess, karaoke, or deep conversations over a pint. It's worth mentioning that only the pub's exterior was filmed for the show; interior scenes were shot in a different studio. Nonetheless, it embraces its Ted Lasso legacy: In March, the pub collaborated with Airbnb to provide overnight stays for a select group of enthusiastic fans.

Ted’s Street

Actual location: Paved Court, Richmond

Just around the corner from the Prince’s Head lies a quaint, cobbled pedestrian street named Paved Court. This delightful avenue is adorned with chocolatiers, fashion boutiques, gift stores, cafés, and jewelers. Above several shops are residential flats, including one inhabited by the eternally upbeat coach. Throughout the series, Coach Beard is often seen waiting outside Ted’s apartment (referred to as 9 1/2 Paved Court in the show, though it’s not a real address), usually with coffee in hand for both of them.

The AFC Richmond Training Ground and Nelson Road

Actual location: SkyEx Community Stadium

Throughout the three seasons of Ted Lasso, several stadiums make brief appearances, such as London Stadium (home of rival West Ham) and Wembley Stadium (where AFC Richmond faced Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final during season two). However, two venues are featured consistently: Richmond’s training ground and its match-day stadium, known as Nelson Road.

In reality, the training field used for filming is the home ground of Hayes & Yeading United Football Club, called SkyEx Community Stadium. During Hayes & Yeading’s season, which spans from August to April, fans can enjoy a match for £10 (approximately US$12).

To catch a glimpse of AFC Richmond’s match-day stadium, you’ll want to head to Selhurst Park, which doubles as the Greyhounds’ stadium, Nelson Road. This venue is home to the actual Premier League team, Crystal Palace FC, whose colors are red and blue, mirroring those of the fictional Richmond team. While the pitch, which has been around for 99 years, is occasionally dubbed the “dog track” in the series (a nod to the area's historical connection to greyhound racing and Richmond’s mascot), you won’t find any dog-related logos here. Crystal Palace players are referred to as the Eagles. For adults, general admission to home games costs £30 (approximately US$37).
