A baby born on a Cebu Pacific flight is awarded 1 million air miles

Here’s a child who might be flying before even learning to walk.
Born four hours into a Cebu Pacific flight from Dubai to Manila, baby Haven has been granted 1 million air miles.
Haven’s mother went into premature labor over five weeks early during a flight on a Cebu Pacific plane on August 14.
Two nurses among the passengers assisted with the delivery, alongside the cabin crew, as the pilot rerouted to Hyderabad, India for additional medical help.
The low-cost airline confirmed that this is the first instance of a baby being born on one of its planes.
CEO Lance Gokongwei announced that Haven would receive one million points in the airline’s GetGo rewards program to celebrate her birth. These points have no expiration and can be shared with her family.
‘Routine’ flight
“We’re pleased to report that both mother and baby are doing well, and we commend our flight and cabin crew for managing the situation with professionalism and efficiency,” he remarked. “Our heartfelt thanks also go to the two volunteer nurses who assisted with the safe delivery.”
A fellow passenger shared on Facebook how Haven’s mother returned to her seat after giving birth during “the most ‘NORMAL’ flight ever.”
“We heard a single loud screech, followed by smaller, adorable screeches, and that’s when we realized the baby had been born,” Missy Berberabe Umandal wrote.
“Thankfully, she only had to push once. Moments later, the woman stood up and returned to her seat, baby in arms (quite strong, I must say).”
According to Umandal, Haven’s arrival caused the flight to be delayed by nearly nine hours before reaching its destination.
“But no complaints,” she added. “Everyone on that plane felt truly blessed.”
