A breathtaking glass floor now stretches across the summit of Thailand's tallest building, offering a nerve-wracking view from the top.

Bangkok is known for its vibrant street food scene, majestic temples, and extravagant shopping malls.
While the city’s notorious traffic may test your patience, truly terrifying experiences are few and far between.
The newly opened Mahanakhon SkyWalk is a thrilling new addition to Bangkok’s list of family-friendly attractions.
Perched atop the towering King Power Mahanakhon, Thailand's tallest skyscraper, this 314-meter-high observation deck and rooftop bar offers stunning 360-degree views of the city.
The nerve-wracking experience comes from a large glass floor that extends outward, suspended over the edge of the building.
Before stepping onto the glass platform, guests must don protective fabric booties over their shoes to keep it pristine.
Some step onto the glass floor with confidence, gazing down, while others freeze in fear and collapse to their knees. Nearly everyone pauses for a photo lying on the glass.
Even if you’re not daring enough to walk on the glass floor, the SkyWalk still provides unparalleled views of the city, especially from the open-air “Peak” at the top.
Zoom to the 74th floor in just 50 seconds, reaching new heights at breathtaking speed.
The adventure begins the moment you step into the video-themed elevator on the ground floor. As you rise to the 74th floor in just 50 seconds, a dynamic Bangkok-themed video plays across all four elevator walls.
Upon arrival, you’ll enter the Indoor Observation Deck, where floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning 360-degree panoramic views, complemented by interactive displays showcasing Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks.
A level up, you'll find the mezzanine and glass elevator boarding area, which takes guests further up to the 78th floor – home to the open-air observation deck.
The bar – the highest in Thailand – serves a variety of cocktails, soft drinks, and beer, including their exclusive Mahanakhon White Ale, a Belgian-style witbier. However, with no seating available, many visitors head upstairs to the Peak for a place to sit.
For the best experience, we recommend arriving around 4 p.m., when the temperature starts to cool down.
As the sun begins to set around 5:30 p.m., the crowds grow, and so does the line to access the thrilling glass floor.
The iconic ‘pixel’ building of Bangkok
Completed in 2016, it took the crown as Thailand’s tallest building, surpassing the long-standing champion, Baiyoke Tower II – a 304-meter hotel in Pratunam that had held the record since 1997.
Its eye-catching design features a sleek steel and glass exterior, with a series of three-dimensional 'pixels' cascading down the structure, a visual feat made possible by the use of 'sky boxes.'
The main Mahanakhon tower boasts 78 floors, with the first 18 floors set to house the upcoming King Power Hotel.
Levels 23 to 73 house the Ritz-Carlton Residences, featuring 209 luxury apartments managed by the prestigious hotel brand.
The 73rd floor is home to the exclusive penthouse Sky Residences, with units ranging from 125 to 844 square meters, offering two to five bedrooms.
The upper floors, 74 through 78, are dedicated to the observation decks and the rooftop bar.
The Mahanakhon CUBE, a separate building within the complex, is a high-end retail and dining destination, hosting renowned venues like L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and the flagship Dean & DeLuca in Bangkok.
The Mahanakhon project was conceived by Pace Development Corporation, and this year, Thai duty-free giant King Power acquired a significant portion of its assets.
As expected, visitors leaving the SkyWalk must pass through a sprawling King Power duty-free shopping area on the ground floor.
Mahanakhon SkyWalk, 114 Narathiwas Road (next to BTS Chongnonsi), Bangkok, Thailand, 10500. Open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, with last entry at 11 p.m.
