A remarkable 'rebirth' of a hotel is coming to New York City’s Upper East Side on September 1.
New York City's luxury hotel offerings continue to expand, with a new venue on the Upper East Side poised to impress affluent travelers seeking upscale accommodations later this year.
The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel, is now open for reservations starting September 1. We've had our eye on this property for some time, even placing it on our list of the most eagerly awaited hotel openings of 2024.
Located on East 76th Street, this property boasts proximity to the beauty of Central Park and the shopping delights of Madison Avenue. The original Surrey Hotel has been a favorite since 1926, hosting illustrious guests like John F. Kennedy and Bette Davis over the years.
While rich in history and charm, The Surrey is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation to modernize its offerings. It will be the only Corinthia hotel in the U.S., maintaining the luxury and service that the brand is celebrated for.
Upon its opening, The Surrey will feature 70 guest rooms, 14 private residences, and 30 suites, including four uniquely designed spaces inspired by the bridges of Central Park. The interior redesign is led by the award-winning Martin Brudnizki, known for their work on iconic New York hotels such as The Beekman, The Fifth Avenue Hotel, and Hotel Fouquet's New York.
CORINTHIA HOTELSIn addition to the accommodations, Casa Tua, the restaurant located on-site, is set to delight both visitors and residents of the Upper East Side. This will mark the first New York location of the renowned Miami-based Italian culinary brand.
The Surrey will also feature an elegant spa, The Surrey Spa, which will showcase Sisley Paris products. It will include two treatment rooms, a steam room, and a sauna, alongside a fitness center designed by Advanced MedAesthetic Partners (AMP).
Booking Information: Room rates are expected to begin at $1,200 per night for a 366-square-foot Deluxe King room and $2,150 for a Junior Suite, which measures 506 square feet.
Earlier this year, the Warren Street Hotel, another highly anticipated addition to New York City’s 2024 openings, began welcoming guests. Nestled in Tribeca, the Warren Street Hotel showcases an eclectic design filled with a variety of textures and patterns, creating a striking contrast to the sleek, modern lines of The Surrey and other hotels throughout the city.
This highlights that in a city as varied as New York, there’s space for every kind of traveler... particularly those willing to spend a little extra.
