A Wealth of Marvel-Inspired Foods Are Coming to Disneyland
Forget Spider-Man popsicles or cookies shaped like Iron Man’s mask—Disneyland’s new Avengers Campus is bringing the flavors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to life. Opening on July 18 inside Disney California Adventure, the area includes an Ant-Man-themed restaurant featuring enormous pretzels, giant meatballs, and a foot-long candy bar. Two new snack kiosks offer colorful churros as a nod to Disney fans, along with several tributes to on-screen foods, including shawarma.
This cuisine is worthy of the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, raising the standard for quick-service dining at Disney with dishes you can imagine superheroes enjoying during their downtime. (Though it’s hard to picture Captain America devouring a foot-long candy bar before saving the world.) The Disney team is still in the 'science development phase,' and the menus are not finalized, meaning changes could happen before the grand opening.
Not So Little Chicken Sandwich at Pym Tasting Kitchen David Nguyen/Disneyland ResortAt Pym Tasting Kitchen, the central restaurant of the area, a 'Quantum Tunnel machine' and size-altering Pym particles create playful food and drinks—alongside the Pym Tasting Lab. The menu is enhanced by Disney’s collaborations with Coca-Cola and Impossible Foods plant-based meat.
The Quantum Pretzel is the standout item at Pym Tasting Kitchen, featuring an enormous Bavarian twist pretzel served with a side of California IPA cheddar-mozzarella beer cheese. While it resembles other large park pretzels, it measures about 14 inches in length. Another hilariously oversized offering is the Not So Little Chicken Sandwich, which combines a substantial chicken schnitzel with a small slider-sized potato bun, topped with Sriracha and teriyaki citrus mayo along with pickled cabbage slaw. The joke, akin to the theme park culinary trend of short skirts and long jackets, is executed to perfection. (Don’t miss the Caesar salad served wedge-style with a head of baby romaine, vegan dressing, and a 'colossal crouton.')

This enormous vegan meatball is served in an oversized ladle that doubles as a bowl, complete with a tiny fork perched on top. While the concept is fantastic, the rigatoni and ditalini pasta are tossed in a basic tomato sauce more suited for a kids' menu.
A popular choice, the PYM-ini can be enjoyed as a massive sandwich cut into portions or by the slice like pizza. This focaccia sandwich is stuffed with two types of salami, provolone cheese, and Fra’Mani ham, along with a slaw made from rice vinegar, grain mustard, and a mayo-based giardiniera spread. It also includes marinara sauce for dipping and a pepperoncini-dressed arugula salad on the side.
Kids can choose the PB&J Flavor Lab, a deconstructed DIY sandwich served on a charming cafeteria tray with “Pym particle” bread adorned with colorful swirls, along with a peel-top container of jelly and peanut butter. It’s one of several mini versions of adult dishes at the restaurant, including a kid-sized chicken sandwich, mini Impossible meatballs and pasta, and the Teeny PYM-ini.
Smaller soft pretzels are also available in Buffalo style (topped with chicken, blue cheese, ranch dressing, and pickled veggies) or elote style (with sweet corn sauce, chile-lime mayo, and cotija cheese)—though only one will launch at the opening. Regardless, save room for the astonishing foot-long Candy Bar, a brilliant take on a Snickers with a chocolate brownie base. You’d wish it wouldn’t turn into a gooey mess in the restaurant’s outdoor seating if resisting the urge to devour it immediately were even an option.
Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park Disneyland ResortThe Pym Tasting Lab, a bar with a similar concept, will share the same seating area and offer beer-based cocktails and hard seltzers. Drinks will be pre-batched, so don’t expect a full bar, but some will be served in themed beaker glasses. Specialty cocktails include the Molecular Meltdown, a marshmallow milk stout topped with vanilla ice cream and mini marshmallows, and The Regulator, combining Golden Road Mango Cart Wheat Ale with Patron Silver, lime juice, and habanero-mango syrup. While the endless beer mug Thor receives from Dr. Strange won’t be available, a reverse-tap system will create a bit of that magic for guests ordering from the extensive beer selection, while souvenir flights will be served on oversized ruler-shaped platters. And if you’re still hungry after your meal next door, a mix called Snack Molecules featuring caramel popcorn, mini-pretzels, peanuts, and Sriracha or strawberry cheesecake-flavored popped sorghum will pair perfectly with your drinks.
While the Avengers hardly have time to snack during their battles against Thanos, Disney has included some of the films' iconic treats, like the neon green Pingo Doce soda from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, available in Pym Tasting Kitchen’s Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. For the team’s only significant on-screen meal, visit the food-stand version of Shawarma Palace from The Avengers to enjoy New York’s Tastiest, a warm chicken wrap with garlic sauce, or the Impossible Victory Falafel with hummus and crusted cauliflower, both perfect for dipping in a creamy lemon tahini sauce.
Proton PB&J Punch and Pingo Doce at Pym Tasting Kitchen and Pym Tasting Lab David Nguyen/Disneyland ResortCosmic Cream Orb from Terran Treats David Nguyen/Disneyland ResortChurros are a beloved staple at Disneyland Resort, and the Avengers Campus will keep that legacy alive with the soon-to-be-Instagram-famous Sweet Spiral Ration. Each one has a hint of magic baked in, and the vibrant colors may not always match the expected flavors. These will be served alongside the Cosmic Cream Orb, reminiscent of a raspberry cheesecake pate a choux, at Terran Treats, a new snack stand inspired by the nearby Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout! attraction.
In keeping with the tech-savvy theme of the area, both Pym Test Kitchen and Pym Tasting Lab will feature Disneyland’s Mobile Ordering system at their launch, allowing you to order lunch and still have time to save the universe—just what any superhero would expect.
