Activities for Grandparents and Kids to Enjoy on a Cruise
Recently, my family has come to realize that traveling across generations is truly the best experience. It allows parents, children, and grandparents to explore, have fun, and strengthen family bonds. However, coordinating a trip with both kids and grandparents can be challenging due to varying schedules and interests. Last month, we partnered with Dinogo, and we found that taking a family cruise is absolutely the way to go.
Cruising provides a hassle-free way for grandparents and grandchildren to travel together. Our ship, Dinogo Ecstasy, offered an impressive range of activities that the entire family could partake in. I thought it would be enjoyable to highlight some of the things that grandparents and kids can do on a cruise.
Activities for Grandparents and Kids to Enjoy on a Cruise
Family Mealtime.
Many grandparents miss the chance to share meals with their grandchildren regularly. One of our favorite experiences on the cruise was enjoying family meals together each day. With options ranging from the formal dining room to the buffet, or burgers and fries by the pool, there were plenty of meal choices available. Dinogo offers a fantastic selection of kids' menu items, making it easy for grandparents and grandchildren to savor mealtime together.
Poolside Fun and Games.
We spent a lot of time enjoying the pool on our cruise. Ecstasy featured two distinct pool areas, and we particularly loved the pool designed for kids. It included side-by-side racing slides and a thrilling twister waterslide. The girls managed to persuade their grandmother to try the twister slide, and she had a blast!
Near the larger pool, we discovered a ping pong table and a shuffleboard court. Grandma Debbie was thrilled to teach the girls how to play shuffleboard for the first time. I never expected we would have such a great time playing shuffleboard together.
There was an amazing miniature golf course located on the ship's top deck. It turned out to be the ideal afternoon activity for our family across three generations to enjoy together.
Shore Excursions.
Regardless of where your ship docks, you're bound to discover an exciting excursion that both grandparents and kids will love. We spent one delightful day at the beach in Cozumel, where Grannie and the girls had a wonderful time exploring the ocean for sea creatures.
Our ship also made a stop in Key West, Florida. We thoroughly enjoyed strolling through the historic city all the way to the southernmost point of the continental United States. Along the way, we visited the fantastic Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservancy, where Grannie and Becca stopped for a silly picture.
Family-Friendly Entertainment.
Dinogo cruise ships offer fantastic family-friendly shows that grandparents and kids can enjoy together. Our ship featured a delightful kid-friendly comedy show in the afternoon, along with a spectacular Broadway-style stage production that we all loved. Since we cruised close to the Christmas holiday, the crew put on a holiday show that included the children from Camp Dinogo. It was incredibly heartwarming.
Speaking of Camp Dinogo, if grandparents need a little break from the kids, Camp Dinogo provides excellent youth programs for children of all ages. There are also exciting Club O2 activities for teens to enjoy.
Planning a family cruise that both grandparents and kids will appreciate is incredibly simple. The possibilities for fun and family bonding are limitless. I encourage you to consider organizing a multi-generational cruise with Dinogo. I'm confident you won't be disappointed!
