After Visiting Hundreds of Resorts in Mexico, Here Are My Top 9 All-Inclusive Picks in Tulum
Tulum has become a symbol of tropical paradise — envision sun-kissed beaches, crystal-clear waters, toes buried in soft sand, and sipping from freshly cut coconuts. It's no wonder this beachfront destination is one of Mexico's most sought-after spots, offering a wide array of hotels.
However, when you think of Tulum, all-inclusive resorts may not immediately come to mind, as the area is known for its boutique, earthy charm and off-the-beaten-path allure. Surprisingly, Tulum and its surrounding areas boast several all-inclusive resorts, each providing a unique experience.
Since 2009, I’ve been exploring Mexico, visiting countless resorts in various destinations. Whether you’re searching for a family-friendly resort with extensive amenities or a secluded villa nestled in the jungle right on a stunning beach, Tulum has the perfect all-inclusive experience for your next getaway.
Here are the top all-inclusive resorts in Tulum, tailored to the vibe you desire for your beach vacation.

Nestled in the tranquil Aldea Zama neighborhood of Tulum, Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club is a luxurious adults-only all-inclusive retreat. Surrounded by lush jungle, it offers a romantic atmosphere, but is not directly on the beach — a drawback for those seeking Tulum's famous sandy shores. The resort boasts 300 suites along with a luxurious beachfront villa. All ground-floor suites feature swim-out pools, while guests can also enjoy four private courtyard pools, two rooftop pools with jungle views, and an oceanfront pool at the beach club. Playaakun
The cozy atmosphere gives guests the feeling of staying in their own private getaway.
This is a very small boutique resort, lacking the extensive dining and bar options typical of larger properties.
While Tulum has become busier over time, Playaakun offers a glimpse of its former charm. With a minimalist design that captures the essence of boho-chic, Playaakun features eco-luxury accommodations directly on the beach. This carbon-neutral property is located at the edge of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, yet remains close to the vibrant dining and activities in Tulum's Hotel Zone.
This luxurious all-inclusive villa is perfect for groups of friends or families seeking a private getaway, accommodating up to 14 guests. Individual rooms can also be reserved. The package includes a personal concierge, housekeeper, security, and a chef who prepares three meals and two snacks daily. Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya All-Inclusive Resort
Victor Elias/HiltonWith thirteen diverse dining options, there's an abundance of culinary choices.
Reservations are mandatory for restaurants and should be made in advance.
In 2022, Hilton launched its inaugural all-inclusive resort in Tulum — a daring venture for a locale known for its boutique offerings. However, they did open, and with 735 rooms, it has become the largest Hilton in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Guests enter through a vast open-air lobby that overlooks the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. The design theme embodies eco-chic, reflecting Tulum's signature aesthetic. Earthy tones, beiges, and whites dominate the color scheme, complemented by artwork from local creators.
The resort boasts a wealth of enticing amenities, including eight oceanfront pools, an extensive gym, and a luxurious spa located at the sister property, Conrad Tulum. While it caters to families, couples seeking tranquility can rest assured, as the Family Zone is situated at the far end of the resort, allowing both groups to enjoy their space.
It's challenging for a large all-inclusive resort to harmonize with Tulum's natural vibe, yet Hilton has successfully instilled a unique sense of place within their Tulum property.

Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa
Image courtesy of Grand PalladiumA diverse array of pools offers unique experiences, including two exclusively for adults, a natural saltwater rock pool, and several relaxing hot tubs.
The expansive property requires shuttle transportation to navigate effectively.
Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa is part of a vast Palladium complex, ranking as the second-smallest among five resorts. With 264 rooms, it allows for a more personalized experience for guests. Visitors can also enjoy various dining options and facilities across the other resorts. The lobby features a spacious, open-air design, complemented by a charming lagoon nearby.
The suites are bright and spacious, offering options for both adults-only and family-friendly blocks, providing thoughtful separation. The Romance Bungalow by the Lake is particularly ideal for couples. With numerous dining choices available at neighboring resorts, guests will find themselves indulged in culinary delights. Additionally, the Zentropia Palladium Spa & Wellness stands out for its sauna, Turkish baths, health bar, and extensive treatment menu.

TRS Yucatan
Courtesy of Palladium GroupThis upscale, adults-only resort serves as the elegant alternative to the family-oriented Grand Palladium.
While guests enjoy beach access, the finest stretch of sand isn't directly in front of the hotel.
Among the resorts in the Grand Palladium complex, TRS Yucatan Hotel stands out as my top choice. As the smallest and most opulent option, it caters exclusively to adults. Guests enjoy full access to the amenities and dining options at the other resorts, but those resorts do not have access to TRS Yucatan's facilities, enhancing its exclusivity.
The suites here are the most exquisite in the entire complex. Junior and Royal Suites feature private hot tubs on their balconies, while Mayan Suites offer views of the lagoon and come with outdoor showers. Although all resorts share a beautiful stretch of white sand, the section in front of TRS Yucatan tends to be rockier, so beach enthusiasts might need to take a shuttle to find the best beach. Nonetheless, the impressive two-tiered oceanfront pool at TRS Yucatan Hotel is truly a highlight.

Important Information Before You Travel
Tulum isn't typically recognized for its all-inclusive resorts.
For a long time, Tulum represented the opposite of the all-inclusive experience, as travelers favored its eco-chic, bohemian vibe and intimate boutique hotels. However, with the emergence of a new airport and the Tren Maya, the landscape is shifting. All-inclusive resorts are likely to increase in number. Presently, most all-inclusive options are situated outside the main area of Tulum, though still within a 30-minute drive.
Prepare for some breezy conditions.
While Tulum boasts stunning beaches, they are among the windiest in the Mexican Caribbean. This is fantastic for kitesurfers seeking the perfect wind conditions, but it can lead to strong gusts and choppy waters for those just looking to relax on the beach.
Flying directly into Tulum airport saves a significant amount of time.
This year marked the launch of international flights at Tulum airport, reducing travel time to hotels and attractions to an hour or less. Previously, travelers had to land in Cancun, which often required over two hours to reach most resorts in the Tulum area.
Our Selection Process for These Hotels
Choosing the top all-inclusive resorts in Tulum can be quite difficult, as it's a destination not widely recognized for these types of accommodations. The hotels included here rank among the finest in terms of location, service, and amenities. In addition to these well-known properties, the author, Meagan Drillinger, lends her expertise. She has been reporting on Mexico since 2009, having visited countless resorts across various destinations. Her evaluations are based on personal experiences assessing guest satisfaction, design, amenities, and location. Moreover, she has analyzed numerous hotel reviews to determine which resorts made the final list. Consistent with our Hotel Values, we meticulously selected the best all-inclusive resorts in Tulum.
