Airbnb Offers Exclusive Stays Inside the Moulin Rouge Windmill

For the very first time, you can spend a night inside the iconic Moulin Rouge windmill in Paris. Originally built in 1889 and rebuilt after a fire in the 1920s, this historic venue’s famed red windmill has never been accessible to the public—until now. This June, Airbnb is opening a hidden room within it for three one-night stays on June 13, 20, and 27.
To ensure the hidden room’s design captures the authentic spirit of the Belle Époque, Airbnb enlisted Jean-Claude Yon, a renowned historian of 19th-century France.
"The Belle Époque was a time when French art and culture reached new heights, and no place represents that era better than the Moulin Rouge," Yon remarked in a press release.

To achieve this, Airbnb filled the space with art nouveau touches, including a cast-iron bed, a miniature paper stage atop the dresser, and a dressing area brimming with vintage costumes. Outside, the private rooftop terrace features period-appropriate garden furniture.
The host of this unforgettable stay is lead dancer Claudine Van Den Bergh. Along with tickets to see her perform in the iconic Moulin Rouge show, Féerie, guests will enjoy a personal meet-and-greet in her dressing room and have the opportunity to take photos on stage with the cast. But that’s just the beginning—guests will also receive a private backstage tour of the Moulin Rouge, along with aperitifs, a three-course rooftop dinner, and breakfast the following morning.
