Fancy dining in the buff in London?
Hold off on shedding your clothes and queue up for a very, very long wait.
Over 32,000 people have signed up for the chance to experience Bunyadi, a pop-up eatery promoted as London's first 'naked dining experience.'
Set to open in June, this central London spot will provide robes, changing rooms, and lockers for those ready to embrace their bare selves while enjoying a meal.
Only 42 guests will be accommodated at a time in the yet-to-be-revealed location, meaning many hoping for a naked meal may be left disappointed.
“I’m both surprised and thrilled by the response,” says Seb Lyall, whose company Lollipop is behind the concept, speaking to Dinogo.
“People crave the opportunity to be naked. Whether on a beach or in a sauna, if the chance to be natural arises, they’ll take it.”

Selfies will be impossible, as guests must leave their devices behind when they enter the candlelit dining area.
Lyall explains that to maintain a truly natural setting, both the restaurant and its kitchen will operate without electricity or gas.
Instead, the menu, which includes both vegan and non-vegan options, will be prepared over wood fires by chefs who, ideally, will be dressed in more than just hairnets and aprons.
Dishes will be served on rustic earthenware and eaten using edible utensils.
The “wood-hewn” tables will be divided by bamboo and wicker partitions for added privacy.
Bunyadi, according to Lyall, will provide patrons with “true freedom” by offering both raw, unprocessed food and an environment free from modern technology and societal norms.
“I’m inspired by the movement towards more natural, pared-down lifestyles,” he says.

A ‘social experiment’

While diners can keep their robes on, Lyall anticipates that most will want to strip down at least partially.
“At the very least, they’ll likely go topless,” he adds.
Reservations at the restaurant will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Up to 2,000 guests will have a two-hour window to secure their spot before the next group of 2,000 can book.
Lyall refers to the venture as a “social experiment” that, despite initial interest, may struggle to maintain its place as a permanent establishment.
While a nude restaurant might be too strange for a first date, for long-term couples, it could offer a thrilling, unforgettable, and perhaps even romantic evening.
But if he proposes, just don’t ask where he’s been hiding the ring.
