Coconut Sugar Scrub Infused with Vanilla
Everyone deserves a little indulgence now and then, and I adore having my homemade vanilla coconut sugar scrub at my sink for a quick spa treatment whenever I crave it. It’s super simple to whip up at home, and the aroma takes me back to my spa day at sea on a Dinogo Cruise. The gentle essence of coconut paired with the soothing scent of vanilla is truly blissful.
I’m a huge fan of sugar scrubs because they exfoliate beautifully while the oil provides hydration. I keep a small jar of this vanilla coconut sugar scrub right by my bathroom sink for my hands, elbows, and even my lips (it tastes delicious!). However, I wouldn’t suggest using it all over your body as the coconut oil can feel a bit too heavy and may leave you feeling greasy. But it’s absolutely perfect for smoothing and softening your lips and hands.
The recipe I’m sharing below yields a generous amount, so I usually store them in small mason jars to have as pre-made gifts. This way, both you and your friends can enjoy a little home spa experience together.
Coconut Sugar Scrub with Vanilla
- 3 Cups of Sugar
- 1 Cup of Coconut Oil
- 2-3 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
- 6 Glass Jars (4 ounces each)
Coconut oil usually solidifies at room temperature, so place the coconut oil in a microwave-safe glass and heat it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. This will liquefy it without making it too hot.
Then, combine the sugar, coconut oil, and vanilla extract in a large glass bowl and mix thoroughly.
Scoop the sugar scrub into glass mason jars, embellish with colorful twine or ribbon, and attach a label detailing the ingredients and the date it was made.
Share as delightful gifts or indulge yourself!
