Delta Introduces International Flights to Exciting New Destinations
As international travel continues to rebound, Delta Air Lines announced on Friday the launch of a new nonstop flight between Los Angeles (LAX) and Auckland, New Zealand, alongside the expansion of several other global routes.
The daily flights connecting New Zealand and Southern California will mark Delta's first foray into this route, making it the only U.S. airline to offer this nonstop long-haul service, which takes about 13 to 14 hours. The service is set to commence on October 28, 2023, using Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
According to Delta executives, the aim of the new Auckland flights and the other newly expanded international routes is to 'fully restore the airline's network in 2023' following the significant reductions in global flight options during the pandemic.

Other international routes that Delta is adding or enhancing include:
- New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to Geneva, Switzerland (new route)
- New York's JFK International Airport to London Gatwick (new route)
- New York's JFK International Airport to Paris (adding a third daily flight starting May 25)
- New York's JFK International Airport to Rome (adding a third daily flight)
- New York's JFK International Airport to Berlin (restoring previous service)
- Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Nice, France (new flight starting May 12)
- Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Tel Aviv, Israel (increasing service to daily starting April 16)
For travelers departing from LAX, Delta recently unveiled the initial phases of its new terminal, T3, with the next phase expected to open this spring, featuring a dedicated Delta One check-in area. A Delta One Club is also set to open in 2024. Upon completion of the Delta Sky Way at LAX project later this year, Terminals 2 and 3 will merge into a single 1.2-million-square-foot terminal with 27 gates, connected by a walking path to the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
JFK is undergoing a major transformation, consolidating all Delta operations to Terminal 4, where travelers can anticipate new gates, a new Delta Sky Club in Concourse A, and a new Delta One Club by early 2024.
