Do I need a visa to travel to Singapore?
A trip to Singapore offers a glimpse into the future. From its modern, almost surreal airport to its striking and ever-evolving skyline, Singapore is a hub of continuous innovation.
While the entry requirements for most nationalities are quite simple, Singapore is known for its strict adherence to regulations. Here’s what you need to know about obtaining a visa for Singapore, including the various types of visas available and the guidelines for seamless travel.
Key Information on Visas for Singapore
Visa requirements for visiting Singapore vary based on your nationality, the duration of your stay, and the purpose of your visit. Citizens from 164 different countries can visit Singapore as tourists for either 30 or 90 days without needing a visa.
Passport holders from the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, and the United States can enjoy 90 days of visa-free travel in Singapore, while citizens from certain other countries are limited to a maximum of 30 days without a visa.
Travelers from countries not included on the visa waiver list must apply for either an e-visa or a traditional tourist visa, depending on their nationality. E-visa applications can be conveniently submitted through any online e-visa provider with a processing time of just one day, whereas regular visas require a more detailed process, necessitating contact with the nearest Singaporean diplomatic mission or application through an agent.

The Frequent Traveller Programme enables visitors from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States to utilize automated clearance facilities at immigration. This streamlines the entry process into Singapore, helping frequent travelers to bypass lengthy wait times during busy hours.
What else should you know before visiting Singapore?
All tourists entering Singapore must possess a valid passport (with at least six months of validity remaining at the time of departure), adequate funds for their stay, and an SG Arrival Card.
In contrast to many other Southeast Asian nations, Singapore does not require a paper-based Disembarkation Card upon arrival. Instead, all travelers (including those in the Frequent Traveller Programme) must complete an SG Arrival Card online, which collects basic personal information, trip details, and a health declaration. You can obtain the SG Arrival Card through the MyICA phone app or the official ICA website.
All travelers, including residents, arriving in Singapore from countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission must present a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Those without a valid certificate may be subject to quarantine at their own expense for up to six days.

Travelers passing through immigration at Changi Airport are issued an electronic Visit Pass (e-Pass) via email instead of a passport stamp. This e-Pass includes details of the visit pass granted, such as the maximum duration of stay and the final day allowed in Singapore.
