Earning Wyndham Diamond status is a breeze — discover how and why it matters to you

Wyndham Diamond status provides great benefits for your stays. Even if Wyndham hotels aren't your usual choice, achieving this status can be worthwhile due to its straightforward earning methods. Here’s what you need to understand.
Benefits of Wyndham status
While some hotel loyalty programs provide substantial rewards for elite members, others offer limited benefits. Wyndham Rewards typically falls into the latter, granting modest perks even to those with Diamond status. Here’s a breakdown of the notable perks across Wyndham's elite tiers:
- Blue (no nights required annually): Complimentary Wi-Fi during your stay
- Gold (generally requires five nights annually): 10% bonus points on stays, a preferred room within the same category upon request (based on availability), and late checkout on request (based on availability)
- Platinum (usually requires 15 nights annually): 15% bonus points on stays, a Caesars Rewards status match, and early check-in on request (based on availability)
- Diamond (typically requires 40 nights annually): 20% bonus points on stays, a free snack or drink upon check-in at select hotels, and suite upgrades upon request (subject to availability at check-in)
Although the elite perks are somewhat limited, earning Wyndham status can still be worthwhile. I value my Wyndham Diamond status because, despite Caesars stopping its status match with Wyndham in 2022, Platinum members and above can still transfer their Wyndham Rewards status to Caesars Rewards. Caesars Platinum status provides complimentary parking in Las Vegas, while Caesars Diamond status offers waived resort fees at Caesars Rewards locations and a free stay at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

Wyndham status match and challenge
Now that you understand the benefits of Wyndham status, let’s examine the current Wyndham status match and challenge offer. To qualify, you need elite status with another hotel loyalty program. Here are the statuses eligible for matching to each Wyndham status level:
- Gold: Members of Marriott Bonvoy, World of Hyatt, Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, Choice Privileges, Best Western Rewards Blue, and Radisson Rewards Club
- Platinum: Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite; World of Hyatt Discoverist and Explorist; Hilton Honors Silver; IHG One Rewards Silver Elite and Gold Elite; Choice Privileges Gold and Platinum; Best Western Rewards Gold, Platinum, and Diamond; Radisson Rewards Premium
- Diamond: Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite and above, World of Hyatt Globalist, Hilton Honors Gold and above, IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite and higher, Choice Privileges Diamond, Best Western Rewards Diamond Select, Radisson Rewards VIP
To initiate a match, visit this Wyndham webpage, log into your account, and fill out the status match request form. You’ll need to provide proof of your current hotel loyalty program status and wait about five to seven days for validation.
After Wyndham confirms your status match, you will receive an email, granting you matched status for 90 days. If you meet certain stay requirements within those 90 days, you can retain your matched status until December 31 of the following calendar year. One qualifying night is needed to maintain Gold, four for Platinum, and ten for Diamond.
Wyndham Rewards considers most paid nights and award nights as qualifying stays. This means you can redeem Wyndham points to count toward your status challenge. However, you cannot use Wyndham status obtained through a match or challenge for status matching into the Caesars Rewards program.

Obtaining Wyndham status through a credit card
Several Wyndham credit cards provide elite status as a benefit while you maintain your card membership. Status gained from these credit cards can be matched to Caesars Rewards. Here’s a breakdown of the Wyndham status you can earn with Wyndham credit cards:
- Wyndham Rewards Earner® Card: Primary cardholders receive Wyndham Rewards Gold status automatically within two to eight weeks of opening this no-annual-fee card.
- Wyndham Rewards Earner® Plus Card: Primary cardholders automatically obtain Wyndham Rewards Platinum status within two to eight weeks of opening this $75-annual-fee card.
- Wyndham Rewards Earner® Business Card: Primary cardholders automatically gain Wyndham Rewards Diamond status within two to eight weeks of opening this $95-annual-fee card.
The details for the Wyndham Earner, Wyndham Earner Plus, and Wyndham Earner Business cards have been independently collected by Dinogo. The information on this page has not been reviewed or endorsed by the card issuer.
If you desire Wyndham Diamond status but don’t stay at Wyndham hotels for 40 nights a year, the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card is a fantastic option. With a $95 annual fee, the 15,000 bonus points earned each year after your card anniversary should provide sufficient value to justify this fee. Additionally, cardholders redeem 10% fewer Wyndham Rewards points for Go Free awards, maximizing the value of your points.
As noted earlier, elite status acquired via a Wyndham credit card can be matched to Caesars Rewards. I recently matched my Wyndham Diamond status—earned as the primary cardholder of the Wyndham Earner Business Card—to Caesars. While the matching process took about a month, I can now enjoy free parking at most Caesars locations, a complimentary stay at Atlantis later this year, and waived resort fees at Caesars properties.
Conclusion
Wyndham Rewards status gained through a status match cannot be transferred to Caesars Rewards. However, Wyndham status earned through stays or via a Wyndham Rewards credit card can be matched to Caesars Rewards. If you appreciate the perks of Caesars Diamond status, such as a 10% discount on Go Free awards and a 20% bonus on earnings from paid stays at Wyndham hotels, it may be beneficial to obtain and maintain the Wyndham Earner Business Card to keep your Wyndham Diamond status.
