Emirates Carry-On Size Limitations Guide
What is Emirates' carry-on policy?
When flying with Emirates, your cabin baggage allowances depend on your travel class, route, and Emirates Skywards membership. Passengers in Economy or Premium Economy can bring one carry-on bag, while Business or First Class travelers are allowed one carry-on plus a briefcase or garment bag.
Emirates has defined carry-on size limits. To take your carry-on baggage on board, its total dimensions, including wheels and handles, must not exceed 22 x 15 x 8 inches (55 x 38 x 20 cm).
If you're traveling in First Class or Business Class with a briefcase or garment bag, your briefcase must measure less than 18 x 14 x 8 inches (45 x 35 x 20 cm), and your garment bag should be folded to a thickness of no more than 8 inches (20 cm).
If you're departing from India, your carry-on baggage size must not exceed 45.3 inches (115 cm).
The maximum weight for your carry-on varies based on your travel class. Economy passengers may carry hand luggage weighing up to 15 lb (7 kg), while Premium Economy travelers can bring up to 22 lb (10 kg). Business and First Class travelers are allowed a carry-on weighing less than 15 lb (7 kg) and an additional briefcase or garment bag of similar weight. Passengers departing from Brazil can carry cabin baggage weighing up to 22 lb (10 kg).

What are Emirates' carry-on liquid regulations?
You may bring liquids, lotions, beverages, and similar items on board, as long as they comply with the carry-on liquid regulations: each container must not exceed 3.4 oz (100 ml). Containers larger than this limit will be rejected, even if not fully filled. All containers must be placed in a clear, resealable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of 33.8 oz (1 l). Each passenger is allowed only one such bag. At the security checkpoint, be prepared to present this bag separately from your other luggage.
What items are allowed on board?
You can transport sports equipment as checked luggage within your standard baggage allowance, provided each piece does not exceed 118 inches (300 cm). Specific packaging requirements may apply based on the type of equipment. Musical instruments can also be carried as checked baggage or cabin luggage if they adhere to baggage restrictions.
Moreover, a musical instrument can be transported in a purchased seat within the passenger cabin. Passengers with disabilities are entitled to additional baggage allowances at no extra charge. You may check a wheelchair or crutches if you have mobility limitations, along with a portable dialysis machine and its necessary equipment if required.
