Enjoy Complimentary Therapy Sessions During Your Stay at These Stylish Hotels

In light of a pandemic that has significantly altered travel habits, many hotels have introduced appealing new features over the past two years to enhance guests' comfort during their overnight stays. At Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, this latest offering includes free therapy appointments.
On February 23, the boutique hotel chain unveiled a partnership with Talkspace, an online mental health platform, to deliver mental health services to both guests and employees. This initiative arrives at a particularly timely moment.
A survey conducted by the American Psychological Association revealed that over 8 in 10 (84 percent) psychologists treating anxiety disorders have noticed a rise in demand for anxiety treatment since the pandemic began, an increase from 74 percent a year prior. The need for depression treatment has also surged, with 72 percent of psychologists working with depressive disorders reporting a similar trend, up from 60 percent in 2020.
“I’ve never been busier,” stated Dr. Sanam Hafeez, a neuropsychologist and psychology professor at Columbia University in New York, in an interview with Dinogo. “This pandemic has significantly heightened mental health challenges. According to the CDC, one in four Americans is now clinically depressed. That’s staggering.”
The initiative, named KimptonxTalkspace, will provide up to 1,000 complimentary video sessions with licensed therapists for guests at over 60 participating Kimpton hotels. Guests can book these sessions on a first-come, first-served basis by emailing talkspace@kimptonhotels.com with proof of their hotel stay.
Once these sessions are fully booked—and they’re expected to fill up quickly—Kimpton will send travelers a $100 discount code for Talkspace in their prearrival emails until the end of the year.
Kathleen Reidenbach, Kimpton’s chief commercial officer, shared with Dinogo that this new offering aims to enhance guests' comfort and confidence as they travel.
In addition to the guest sessions, all Kimpton staff (over 4,000 employees) now have unlimited access to Talkspace sessions until the end of the year. Reidenbach mentioned that these sessions acknowledge the pandemic's toll on them as front-line workers.
“They’ve faced immense challenges, from worker shortages to the demands of maintaining safety protocols,” Reidenbach noted. “This initiative is our way of showing employees that we value them and recognize their hard work, often under tough conditions.”
