Essential Information About the JetBlue TrueBlue Frequent Flyer Program
TrueBlue is JetBlue's frequent flyer program, based in New York, designed to reward loyal travelers with multiple ways to earn and redeem points. The program offers flexible award travel without fixed minimums or blackout dates, making it simple to use points for JetBlue flights. Unlike many other loyalty schemes, even infrequent travelers can benefit from "Perks You Pick," which become available after a TrueBlue member accumulates just 10 "tiles" (more on those tiles shortly). Additionally, members have the option to pool points with family and friends.
Achieving Elite Mosaic status requires earning 50 tiles, which unlocks a variety of Mosaic Signature Perks and additional customizable options at different tiers. “There’s a special emphasis on partnerships that enhance the travel experience on the day of travel,” notes Gilbert Ott, director of partnerships at Point.me, highlighting the complimentary Blade helicopter airport transfers available to top-tier Mosaic members. “However, the limited international route network (for now) may require travelers to fly with other airlines for overseas destinations.”

Flights
The number of TrueBlue points you earn on JetBlue flights depends on several factors:
- Flight Cost: You earn a minimum of three TrueBlue points for every dollar spent when booking flights in Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra, or Mint fare categories.
- Booking Method: When you book your flight on JetBlue’s website or via the JetBlue app, you receive an additional 3x points.
- JetBlue Mosaic Status: Members with Mosaic elite status receive an extra 3x points on all paid JetBlue flights, irrespective of fare class.
Travelers who book Blue Basic fares (JetBlue’s version of basic economy introduced in 2019) earn a reduced number of base points (1x) and a lower bonus (1x) when booking directly through JetBlue's website or app. However, those with Mosaic status or JetBlue cardholders still receive 3x points.
JetBlue provides several bonus programs for frequent flyers:
- Take 3 Bonus: Receive 5,000 bonus points after completing three roundtrip JetBlue flights within a calendar year.
- Lucky 7 Bonus: Earn 7,000 bonus points after flying seven roundtrip JetBlue flights in a calendar year.
- Go Long Bonus: Gain 10,000 bonus points after taking 10 one-way JetBlue flights that are 1,600 miles or longer during the calendar year.
You can also earn bonus points by purchasing extras such as upgrading to an Even More Space seat (200 bonus points) or paying for pet fees (300 points).
JetBlue collaborates with several domestic and international airline partners, including Hawaiian Airlines, Icelandair, JSX, Qatar Airways, Silver Airways, and South African Airways. While TrueBlue points can only be redeemed on Hawaiian Airlines and Qatar Airways, you can easily earn points on all these partners by entering your TrueBlue number when making flight reservations. The points you earn for partner flights primarily depend on the airline and booking class.
Credit Cards
Beyond flying, one of the easiest methods to gather TrueBlue points is by applying for one of JetBlue's co-branded credit cards. The JetBlue Card, JetBlue Business Card, and JetBlue Plus Card allow cardholders to earn points on everyday purchases and usually come with attractive sign-up bonuses tied to minimum spending. For example, new JetBlue Plus Cardholders can earn 50,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 in the first 90 days.
Additional Earning Opportunities
- TrueBlue Dining: Sign up for TrueBlue Dining and receive 500 bonus TrueBlue points when dining at eligible restaurants, along with extra points for regular meals.

- Airport Rewards: Receive one point per dollar spent when dining and shopping at over 1,000 merchants in more than 100 airports.
JetBlue Mosaic Status Levels
JetBlue's TrueBlue program features several levels of Mosaic elite status, each offering increasing perks and benefits. Frequent flyers with this status can earn bonus points and access advantages such as priority boarding, complimentary checked bags, free in-flight drinks, extra legroom seats, same-day flight modifications, expedited security, dedicated check-in services, and around-the-clock support.
“JetBlue has significantly enhanced its elite status program over the last two years, introducing new features and benefits, including business class upgrades on flights to Europe,” shares Gary Leff, a travel expert from View from the Wing, with T+L.
The airline has implemented a new system for earning Mosaic status known as "tiles." TrueBlue members can accumulate these tiles in various ways, including flying with JetBlue and using the airline's co-branded credit cards. Specifically, you earn one tile for every $100 spent on JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations, and Paisley by JetBlue. How to Use Your Miles
Flight Options
Booking award travel on JetBlue is straightforward—simply search for flights on their website and select "Use TrueBlue Points" to view prices in points. Similar to other U.S. airlines, JetBlue employs dynamic pricing for award tickets, adjusting point values in line with cash fare fluctuations based on demand. You can easily compare costs in points versus dollars.
If your TrueBlue points fall short for the full fare, JetBlue allows you to combine cash and points for payment. After choosing your flight, a slider lets you decide how many points to use for the booking, as long as you have at least 500 TrueBlue points. Note that this option is unavailable for Blue Basic fares.

Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4 members can utilize upgrade certificates for JetBlue’s Mint class; however, TrueBlue points cannot be used for Mint upgrades. If you've booked an award ticket in economy, you'll need to cancel it and then rebook in Mint class.
Redemptions with Partner Airlines
You can redeem TrueBlue points for flights on partner airlines like Hawaiian Airlines and Qatar Airways. JetBlue has an award chart that outlines the points required based on service class, origin, and destination, with economy tickets within Hawaii starting at just 6,000 TrueBlue points.
Additional Ways to Use Your Miles
- JetBlue Vacations: Use your TrueBlue points to book all-inclusive vacation packages via JetBlue Vacations, which may cover flights, hotels, and even activities for a seamless travel experience.
- Points Payback: TrueBlue Plus cardholders can convert their TrueBlue points into statement credits, with an annual limit of $1,000.
- Donate Points: JetBlue collaborates with various charities, allowing members to donate their points to organizations like Make-A-Wish, Miles4Migrants, and the New York Urban League.
Maximizing Your JetBlue Points
Utilize the Best Fare Finder.
JetBlue's Best Fare Finder feature enables you to explore award prices for your chosen route in a calendar layout, making it easier to spot dates with the lowest fares.
Make the Most of Mint.
For a top-tier travel experience, consider redeeming your TrueBlue points for a seat in Mint, JetBlue's business class featuring lie-flat seating. Keep in mind that points cannot be used to upgrade from economy — you must book Mint directly from the start.
Blend points and cash.
JetBlue provides a Cash + Points option, enabling you to purchase flights using a mix of cash and points, allowing you to set your preferred ratio. This is particularly helpful if your points fall short of covering the full fare.
