Exclusive Glamping Tents, Pristine Beaches, a Resident Botanist. And It’s a Four Seasons.
The Dinogo perspective: an adults-only tented escape that connects you with nature
Located just a three-minute drive from the original Four Seasons Punta Mita, this adults-only tented camp offers an all-inclusive experience while feeling utterly secluded. Nestled within 48 acres of jungle on a hill overlooking a white-sand beach, Naviva features 15 luxury bungalow-style tents, each accommodating up to two guests. With a maximum of 30 guests on the property at any given time, the atmosphere is tranquil. While not traditional glamping, the fully-equipped tents are topped with a massive canopy inspired by bird wings to create the appearance of a tent.
Who it’s designed for: couples, solo travelers
This property is exclusively for adults, making it the perfect retreat for relaxation. Guests can enjoy a laid-back schedule filled with activities like beach reading, yoga classes, or short hikes. Each bungalow features a king-size bed, making Naviva ideal for solo travelers or couples. For friends sharing the space, the bungalows also have couches that convert into double beds. Additionally, you can rent the entire property for a minimum of three nights for intimate weddings or gatherings.
At the nearby Four Seasons Punta Mita, solo travelers may feel out of place amidst families and larger groups, but the vibe at Naviva is entirely different. In this intimate setting, it's easy for guests to connect during meals, activities, or while lounging by the pool. The dining area is casual enough that dining alone doesn’t feel uncomfortable.

Location: Punta Mita
Naviva is situated within the stunning Punta Mita resort area in Nayarit, roughly an hour's drive north of Puerto Vallarta airport on Mexico's Pacific Coast. For those familiar with the original Four Seasons Punta Mita, this newer property is conveniently located next door.
Nestled within 48 acres of lush forest, the hotel has made an effort to preserve the natural landscape as much as possible. This means no manicured lawns; instead, palm trees thrive in their natural state, a stark contrast to the heavily landscaped Four Seasons next door. But don't worry, you won't have to sacrifice comfort. Alongside a pristine white-sand beach, the property features a tiered pool at its heart and several open-air bamboo spa pods offering a range of relaxing treatments, available for an additional fee. Sauna enthusiasts can partake in a guided ceremony in the on-site temazcal.
This property caters exclusively to adults, making it the perfect escape to unwind. Each day can be blissfully simple—read a book by the beach, enjoy a yoga session, or explore the hiking trails.
The accommodations at Naviva, a Four Seasons Resort
Naviva offers 15 unique accommodations known as bungalows, but they are fully independent structures. Their distinctive tent-like appearance features grand canopies above and draped fabric ceilings inside the bedrooms. Each tent is equipped with modern comforts, including air conditioning and mini bars stocked with sodas, fresh juice, and milk for your coffee. The design includes sliding glass doors on two of the four walls, seamlessly merging indoor and outdoor spaces.

There are two types of tents to choose from: Ocean-View Grand Tents and standard Ocean-View Tents. The Grand Tents range from 1,604 to 1,722 square feet and feature a king-size bed along with a fold-out sofa, a screened-in porch furnished with an L-shaped couch, and a deck that boasts a plunge pool, two lounge chairs, and a sunken seating area complete with a gas firepit. The bathroom includes a shower, a bathtub, and an outdoor shower, while the toilet is in a private compartment, ensuring ample privacy.
The standard Ocean-View Tents offer similar amenities but on a slightly smaller scale, with 1,259 square feet of space both indoors and outdoors. While they are compact, they still provide generous living areas. The main distinction is that instead of the two-tier deck with a firepit, these bungalows feature an outdoor hammock for relaxation.
The dining experience: Copal Cocina
Naviva's intimate setting includes just one restaurant: Copal Cocina. This open-air venue operates without a traditional menu for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Instead, servers guide guests through a four-course dinner that features dishes like an avocado and citrus salad with feta, queso fundido topped with seasonal vegetables served alongside flour tortillas, and sea bass accompanied by pink mole made from beets and carrots sourced from the resort’s garden. (The chefs are also happy to prepare any off-menu requests guests may have.)
The bartenders are more than willing to whip up any drink you desire, but it would be a missed opportunity not to try their signature specials, such as a mezcal margarita topped with a blend of hibiscus and red wine, perfectly balancing the smokiness of the mezcal. Wine is available as well; although there isn't a formal menu, recommended pairings often include sauvignon blancs from Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe in Baja.

For a change of scenery, guests can opt for lunch by the pool, request a picnic on the beach, or have the staff arrange a private dining setup at almost any location on the property. Additionally, 24-hour dining is available in the tent.
Guests also have the option to be driven to the nearby Four Seasons Punta Mita, where they can explore nearly a dozen dining venues, including Bahía by Richard Sandoval, a quintessential beachside grill, and Aramarita, a temporary pop-up showcasing Asian cuisine. (Though you may find it hard to leave the resort.)
Staff and Service
Upon your arrival, you'll quickly realize that this Four Seasons is different from the rest. Staff members, referred to as guides here, address you by your first name—no more formal Mr. or Mrs. titles like in other Four Seasons hotels. Instead of a front desk, you’ll relax on a couch in the entry canopy while your assigned guide takes you on a golf cart tour to familiarize you with the property. Meanwhile, other guides will transport your luggage to your room. During your stay, expect to meet each guide, including the botanist responsible for maintaining the on-site vegetable garden.
Accessibility
The bungalows feature zero-entry design, making them wheelchair accessible. While the property is situated on a hill, which may pose some navigation challenges, staff members are readily available to assist with golf cart transportation. However, please note that the beach is accessed via a flight of stairs, and the pool area is terraced with steps, which could complicate accessibility.

A Respectful Approach to Nature
Naviva was designed with sustainability as a priority, with bungalows thoughtfully positioned within the forest to conserve as many existing trees as possible. Any trees that were removed were transformed into hand-carved timber hooks for each tent, while some larger stones found on the property were repurposed into benches.
To safeguard the wildlife on the Punta Mita peninsula, the resort employs specific lighting to minimize light pollution. Fumigation for mosquitoes is carried out only once a week to ensure that enough food remains for local birds, preventing them from being driven away. Bird-watching is a highlight of the experience here; each tent is equipped with binoculars for guests to observe native birds such as black-throated magpie-jays and great kiskadees while enjoying morning coffee on their deck. In the restaurant, guides can also help guests spot rufous-bellied chachalacas wandering through the underbrush during breakfast. If you prefer mammals, keep an eye out at night for coatis, a raccoon relative, as they roam the forest.
