Experience the ultimate luxury on Richard Branson’s Moskito Island with two new exclusive estates available for $19,000 per night | Dinogo

Although it’s not for the budget-conscious, Richard Branson’s exclusive private-island retreat in the British Virgin Islands offers a lavish stay in a villa with a personal chef and resident manager who curates a highly personalized itinerary for each guest – a dream destination that belongs on every bucket list.
Richard Branson, the British billionaire who made headlines in July for his space voyage aboard Virgin Galactic’s rocket plane, officially unveils Moskito Island on Friday, his second private island retreat in the BVI.
Located just two miles across the Caribbean Sea from its renowned sister island Necker, Moskito Island spans 125 acres and will eventually feature ten exclusive private estates, some available for rent through Virgin Limited Edition, Branson’s global collection of luxurious and unique properties.
A 35-minute flight from San Juan or an 80-minute flight from Antigua to Tortola’s airport, followed by a short boat ride, will take you to Moskito Island, which features an extensive recreational area on its east side, including a beach house, infinity pool with bar, tennis pavilion with two courts and grandstand, a gym, watersports center, and dining pavilion.
The watersports center at Moskito Island offers a range of activities, including sailing, kite surfing, kite boarding, stand-up paddleboarding, water skiing, wakeboarding, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
Branson’s personal estate on Moskito Island, aptly named the Branson Estate, became available for rent in January 2020. The newly launched estates this Friday are the Oasis Estate and the Point Estate.

Two newly unveiled luxury properties on Moskito Island, the Oasis Estate and the Point Estate, are now available for exclusive rental.
Perched atop Moskito Island’s highest peak, the Oasis Estate spans 17,500 square feet and offers sweeping, panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and nearby islands. The six-bedroom main house features a master suite with 270-degree views and each bedroom is equipped with en-suite bathrooms, including both indoor and outdoor baths and showers. Additionally, three waterside guest rooms offer stunning views from their private decks, overlooking the Caribbean and Virgin Gorda.
The Point Estate, located on the southwest edge of Moskito Island, spans 16,000 square feet and is perched right on the cliffside. Its open-air, seaside dining pavilion offers the best views on the island, with a front-row seat to the British Virgin Islands' breathtaking sunsets. The estate features seven hillside villas with eight bedrooms, including two master suites and a children’s room with eight bunks, accommodating up to 22 guests.

The Branson Estate, Moskito Island's largest property, spans 19,000 square feet and boasts its own private beach. The estate consists of three villas – Headland House, named after Branson’s daughter Holly, the Virgin Group’s chief purpose officer; Beach Villa; and Mangrove Villa, inspired by his son Sam, founder of Sundog Pictures. Together, these villas offer 11 bedrooms, accommodating up to 22 guests. Each villa features expansive views, its own kitchen, lounge area, infinity pool, and hot tub.
Several of the island’s remaining seven estates will be available for rent starting next year and beyond, adding to the luxurious options for guests.

The estates are designed to accommodate large groups – but at a premium price.
Unlike Necker Island, which is typically available for exclusive use and requires a single group to book all 20 rooms for a week with up to 40 guests, the estates on Moskito Island can be rented separately. However, each estate requires a minimum stay of four nights.
A stay at a Moskito Island estate ensures the ultimate in luxury. Prior to arrival, guests are contacted by their personal estate manager who oversees every detail of their stay. Pre-arrival preference forms are provided to customize meal options, drinks, and activities to ensure a highly personalized experience from start to finish.
The estate manager collaborates closely with the private chef and the Moskito Island team to deliver what the island describes as a ‘hyper-personalized’ experience for each guest. The estate staff takes care of every aspect of the stay, including water sports, meal preferences, spa treatments, and activities like tennis, game nights, and beach Olympics.

‘Extremely private and exclusive’
Jon Brown, CEO of Virgin Limited Edition, describes Moskito as “the latest gem of the Caribbean, a truly unique retreat where guests can enjoy unparalleled luxury in the most pristine surroundings, all while having the comfort and privacy of a stunning home as their base.”
When Richard acquired the island in 2007, he drew inspiration from his beloved Necker Island, incorporating many of the designs and elements that have contributed to its success. However, what truly sets Moskito Island apart is its unique personality and charm, shaped not only by Richard’s vision but also by the creative input of like-minded homeowners who have added their distinct ideas and vision to the island,” explained Brown.
Kenton Jones, BVI regional manager for Virgin Limited Edition, believes the Moskito Island experience will offer exceptional privacy and exclusivity, with a strong focus on the natural beauty and unique activities the island provides, which resonates with today’s travelers and the current state of the global travel industry.
Another key appeal, according to Jones, is the British Virgin Islands’ rigorous Covid-19 protocols: vaccinated travelers must take an antigen test upon arrival, while those who are not fully vaccinated are required to take a PCR test on arrival and complete an application via the BVI Gateway travel portal.
Jones suggests that Moskito Island will be the ideal escape for large groups, families, weddings, honeymoons, corporate retreats, and summits—provided, of course, the guests are financially prepared to meet the lavish costs associated with the island’s luxury offerings.
