Guy Fieri's Ringer Burger
Can you believe we’re sharing this recipe with you? Guy might be a little upset! (Just kidding. Guy actually thinks it’s awesome and wants you to have fun with it.)
SERVINGS: 1
TOTAL TIME: 15 Minutes
DIFFICULTY: 2/5
Ingredients:
Grab these ingredients, and you'll be channeling your inner Guy Fieri in no time:
- 5 oz ground beef (80/20 blend)
- ½ oz cheese sauce (like Velveeta)
- ½ oz thinly-sliced sweet onion
- 1½ oz finely-shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 slice of American cheddar cheese
- 1 thin slice of beefsteak tomato
- 3 paper-thin slices of kosher dill pickle
- 2 tbsp “Donkey Sauce” (recipe below)
- 1 large crispy onion ring
- 1 tbsp Guy Fieri Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce (available at stores)
- Kosher salt for seasoning
Here’s where Guy would typically crack a bun joke. Since we don’t have any, let’s just share the ingredients:
- 1 soft hamburger bun, halved
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- ¼ tsp garlic paste
Prepare the Donkey Sauce using these ingredients (makes about 1 cup):
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup roasted garlic
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- 4 pinches of ground black pepper
Let’s Get Started:
Preparing the burger:
- Preheat a flat-top grill or cast iron skillet over high heat. Shape the ground beef into a tight ball and season it with salt. Place the hamburger ball on the grill and sear for 45 seconds, then press down with a heavy spatula to flatten to about ⅓ inch thick.
- Cook for 90 seconds to form a crust on the first side. Flip the burger and cook for an additional minute to create a crust on the other side. Pour cheese sauce over the top of the patty and add a slice of cheese on top. (This is the tasty part.)
- Mix the roasted garlic with melted butter. Brush this mixture on the inside of the bun halves and toast them on the grill or skillet for 3-4 seconds until they are golden and crispy. Flip the bun halves and toast the outside for another 3-4 seconds until lightly browned.
Preparing the sauce:
- Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until well combined.
- That’s it — you’ve just created Donkey Sauce!
Assembling the burger:
- Spread Donkey Sauce on the sliced sides of both bun halves.
- Layer the bottom half with pickle slices and the burger patty.
- Add a crispy onion ring, followed by BBQ sauce, sliced onions, tomato, and lettuce on top of the burger.
- Now for the tricky part: place the top half of the bun on top.
- No fancy extras here! This recipe isn’t about being gourmet… it’s for everyone to enjoy.
