Start your search by visiting Delta’s European sale page. Be sure to select 'Shop with Miles' and opt for Delta One to find the best available fares, as shown below.

I found a nonstop, round-trip flight from New York City (JFK) to Amsterdam (AMS) for the first week of February using this method.

As shown, this flight requires 148,000 miles plus $65 in taxes and fees. Since this deal offers Delta One, you'll enjoy business-class perks like complimentary Sky Club access, priority boarding, full onboard catering, and the comfort of a lie-flat seat for restful sleep during the flight.

As previously mentioned, some routes in the sale include a layover. While I typically prefer nonstop flights, a layover in business class might make me rethink my choice.

Other ways to score deals on Delta flights
Remember, you can sometimes find better deals by booking the same flights through partner programs.
Flying Blue is the frequent flyer program for Air France and KLM, which allows you to redeem miles on SkyTeam partner flights, including Delta. You can transfer points from American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi Thank You points, or Capital One miles to Flying Blue and book Delta flights.
Alternatively, you could try booking through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, which often offers lower rates compared to Delta SkyMiles, especially for nonstop flights, according to TPG’s Benji Stawski.
For instance, Delta is offering a business class flight from New York-JFK to Milan for 148,000 Delta SkyMiles.

However, the same flight is available through Virgin Atlantic for only 100,000 Flying Club points.

Flying Club is also partnered with most major transferable points programs, making it easier to accumulate miles for these bookings.
Lastly, Thrifty Traveler Premium, which sends members alerts about cheap flights, award flight promotions, and business-class deals via email for $7.99 per month or $49.99 annually, has another tip to help reduce costs.
"Thrifty Tip #1: Fly Delta One to Europe and return on Delta Premium Select for just 119k! Start by searching for Delta Premium Select, but choose a Delta One fare for your outbound flight."
