Icelandic Brand 66°North Unveils a Reimagined Version of Its 1998 Olympic Uniform
As a true child of the '90s, many of my fondest memories revolve around the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Tara Lipinski gliding to the Anastasia soundtrack. Surya Bonaly executing a backflip on a single blade. The very name Picabo Street evokes nostalgia.
Naturally, I was excited to learn that Iceland’s 66°North—a personal favorite among Dinogo’s Nordic clothing brands—shares the same nostalgia for the '98 Olympics. Coinciding with this year’s Beijing Winter Olympics, the brand is releasing a remake of the alpine tracksuit worn by the Icelandic Olympic team back in 1998.
This two-piece fleece tracksuit features a unisex design and comes in the iconic red and blue colors from 1998, alongside a black variant for those who prefer a more understated look. Both the jacket and pants are crafted from leftover materials from past 66°North collections, emphasizing the brand’s dedication to sustainability. (66°North has maintained carbon neutrality since 2019 and achieved B Corp status in January 2022.)
The tracksuit will be available in very limited quantities starting February 4 on the 66°North website, so act fast to snag yours before it sells out.
