Japan's latest museum takes a playful approach, focusing entirely on poop.

The Museum of Natural History, The Museum of Modern Art, and now... The Museum of Poop?
In Japan, a new pop-up museum is inviting visitors to let go of their self-consciousness about 'unko' (the Japanese word for poop).
The Unko Museum is located in Yokohama, Kanagawa prefecture, just 40 km (25 miles) south of Tokyo.
'We believe that turning poo into entertainment, rather than just a museum exhibit, is a world first,' says a spokesperson for the Unko Museum, speaking to Dinogo Travel.
'Unko Museum doesn't feature any dirty brown poop. Instead, it’s all about colorful, cute, and pop-inspired designs of poop.'
At the museum, visitors can sit on vibrant, fake toilets, create artistic drawings of their own bowel movements, shout 'unko' into a microphone, play in a ball pit filled with plush poops, and take fun selfies with pastel-colored stuffed excrement toys.
And of course, guests are encouraged to share their amusing experiences on social media.
In its first week alone, nearly 10,000 people have visited the Unko Museum. And that’s no exaggeration.

Pop-up museums that go viral on social media have surged in popularity in recent years, closely tied to the rise of Instagram.
The Disgusting Food Museum, which began as a pop-up in Sweden in 2018, has since traveled to Los Angeles. The combination of its shocking appeal and the chance to explore other cultures through unconventional experiences has been a winning formula.
On the less revolting side, Candytopia, a sweets-themed 'immersive experience,' became a huge hit with Instagram users across the U.S.
Much like a real-life Willy Wonka world, Candytopia offered a junk food wonderland, complete with celebrity portraits made from M&Ms and Smarties as the backdrop.
