“These are thrilling times for our destination,” remarked Ary Chalus, President of the Guadeloupe Islands Tourist Board, in a statement. “JetBlue is an ideal partner for the Guadeloupe Islands, and we are ecstatic about the new service. New York-JFK is our most successful gateway, and we are honored to be chosen by an airline that is so beloved by New Yorkers.”
Guadeloupe comprises two main islands, Basse-Terre and Grande Terre, which together form a butterfly shape, separated by the narrow la Rivière Salée. Known for its breathtaking scenery, the islands also boast rich agriculture, history, and delicious Creole-inspired seafood. It primarily attracts European travelers seeking a beach getaway, as Guadeloupe has a strong French influence.
First-time visitors will discover activities suitable for everyone: unwind on pristine white sand beaches, hike through lush rainforests, or admire charming French architecture. Shopping enthusiasts should visit the capital city, Pointe-à-Pitre—home to the airport—for unique treasures like perfumes, scarves, and cosmetics.
“With its blend of French sophistication and Caribbean vibrancy, Guadeloupe will provide our customers with a fresh and exciting destination to escape to this winter,” noted Andrea Lusso, the airline's route planning director. “We are focused on enhancing our New York strategy, and by introducing this unique destination, we further solidify our position in the Caribbean, where JetBlue continues to offer more nonstop flights from JFK than any other airline.”
The route will be served by an Airbus A320 and will feature in JetBlue’s schedule on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
