Lufthansa Introduces Lavish New Cabins Featuring Opulent First and Business Suites—Here’s an Exclusive Preview
In a major transformation of its international travel experience, the German airline Lufthansa has revealed luxurious new cabins, extending from economy all the way to first class.
The revamped onboard offering, called “Allegris”, represents a comprehensive upgrade across all four service classes. It will debut on wide-body aircraft later this year, starting with new Boeing 787-9s in September (though these will not include a first class). Ultimately, more than 80 Lufthansa planes (over 27,000 seats) will feature the Allegris configuration.
While passengers in economy and premium economy will benefit from improved seating, it’s the business and first-class travelers who will enjoy the most significant enhancements and options. “Every guest has their own perception of premium, which is why we emphasize maximum individuality and exclusivity,” stated Lufthansa CEO Jens Ritter.
Here’s a detailed look at the new seat offerings—and why Allegris could revolutionize air travel.

In the front cabin, Lufthansa will unveil an exclusive setup of just three spacious suites in a single row. Launching in 2024 on the Airbus A350-900, first-class passengers can select from two distinct seating configurations. Each suite is fully enclosed with floor-to-ceiling walls and sliding doors, creating a personalized sanctuary, with one suite offering an additional unique feature.
The center suite, known as the “Suite Plus,” allows two passengers to travel together in a double seat, offering the ability to dine and recline side by side. Notably, this seat converts into a full-size bed without any divider in between, and solo travelers can also reserve the Suite Plus for additional space.
Every first-class suite will include a dining table, a 32-inch or 43-inch 4K screen, and a dedicated wardrobe area.

With the revamped Allegris configuration, business-class travelers can choose from an impressive seven types of seats, including a spacious suite with a door and mini bar, as well as a seat featuring an extra-long bed that's nearly eight inches longer than standard options.
All business-class travelers, regardless of their chosen seat, will benefit from direct aisle access, wireless charging, Bluetooth capabilities, and individual heating and cooling controls at each seat.

Premium economy passengers will enjoy seats with a fixed-back design, allowing for reclining without intruding on the space of the passenger behind. Additionally, there will be a 15.6-inch 4K screen, wireless charging ports, leg rests, a dedicated cocktail table, a personal reading light, a coat hook, and a water bottle holder.

Lufthansa is also prioritizing economy passengers in the upcoming redesign. Each coach seat will come equipped with a 13.3-inch 4K entertainment screen, USB-C and USB-A power outlets, and Bluetooth headphone connectivity. Additionally, travelers can opt for a “neighbor-free” seat, allowing them to reserve an adjacent seat for added personal space.
