Qatar Airways Is Set to Unveil a Highly Anticipated New Qsuite Business Seat—Take a Look Inside
Qatar Airways’ Qsuite has long been regarded as one of the most luxurious business-class seats worldwide. First introduced in 2017, these pod-style seats feature sliding doors for enhanced privacy, center-aisle suites that can convert into a lie-flat double bed, and on-demand dining with a selection of Western and Arabic dishes. Now, the airline has revealed an even more extravagant 2.0 version of this premium offering.
Expected to launch by the end of 2025, Qatar’s Qsuite Next Gen will include a newly designed companion suite, digitally lockable storage (similar to a compact hotel safe), wireless charging capabilities, and a host of additional enhancements when it takes to the skies on Boeing 777-9 aircraft.
Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming Qsuite Next Gen seats from Qatar.
More spacious and sociable seating arrangements
Similar to the current model, passengers will find alternating forward- and rear-facing rows arranged in a one-two-one layout. Regardless of the seat's position, each offers opportunities for social interaction.
Centrally located on the aircraft, the new Quad Suite enables families or groups of up to four to merge their seats into a larger area by retracting the privacy panels. The high-definition 4K OLED Panasonic screens can be adjusted and tucked away to create more space. Additionally, seats in the same middle row can convert into a lie-flat double bed, with cabin crew providing an on-demand turndown service for all business-class travelers.

A new companion suite feature will let guests traveling together in window seats remove their partitions and enjoy meals or conversations face-to-face.
Each seat will be 1.5 inches wider when upright and 4 inches wider in lie-flat mode compared to the existing Qsuite seats. The doors will be raised by two inches for enhanced privacy and will be motorized, unlike the manual doors on the current Qsuites.
New In-Suite Features
A major issue with the current Qsuites has been limited storage, which the Qsuite Next Gen addresses by introducing two additional drawers (one of which can be secured with a keypad like a hotel safe), a nook for small bags beside the seat, a compartment for shoes, and a dedicated space for water bottles.
Passengers will enjoy greater customization of their environment, including the ability to adjust ambient lighting and reposition the seat via two touchscreen control panels. Additional features include USB-C high-speed charging ports and a wireless charging pad. The entire aircraft will be equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi.

At present, Qatar Airways has no intentions to retrofit its existing Airbus A350 or Boeing 777 aircraft with the updated product. However, the airline announced in a press release plans to introduce new food and beverage concepts in business class, including a selection of shared dishes and an “express breakfast” service for those who prefer to maximize their sleep. Additionally, there will be new business-class pajamas designed by London-based The White Company, known for its luxurious sleepwear, as well as new amenity kits crafted by high-end luggage brand BRIC’S, featuring products from Italy’s Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio.
In June, Qatar was awarded the top honors for World’s Best Airline, Best Business Class, Best Business Class Lounge, and Best Airline in the Middle East at the Skytrax 2024 World Airline Awards, which evaluated around 350 airlines based on votes from passengers in over 100 countries.
