How to earn Marriott points through Uber rides and food deliveries
UBERBy simply linking your Marriott Bonvoy and Uber accounts, you can earn points on eligible food and grocery orders via Uber Eats, as well as on rides with Uber across the U.S.
Here’s how you can earn points:
- 6 Marriott Bonvoy points for every dollar spent on Uber Eats deliveries to hotels affiliated with Marriott brands in the U.S., requiring a minimum order of $40 (equating to a 5.04% return based on TPG's valuations)
- 3 Marriott points for every dollar spent on Uber Premium rides: Uber XL, Uber Black, Uber SUV, and Uber Comfort (resulting in a 2.52% return)
- 2 Marriott points for every dollar spent on non-hotel Uber Eats deliveries in the U.S., also with a minimum order of $40 (yielding a 1.68% return)
Additionally, for a limited time, you can earn 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points on your first qualifying food delivery of $40 or more with Uber Eats, or on your initial qualifying ride. This promotion ends on December 31, 2023.
To maximize your rewards while accumulating Marriott Bonvoy points, consider using a credit card that offers bonus points or miles for Uber rides or food deliveries, allowing you to effectively double your rewards. For instance, the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Card gives you unlimited 10% cash back on Uber and Uber Eats, along with a free Uber One membership until November 14, 2024.
TPG's senior points and miles editor, Gabrielle Bernardini, optimizes her rewards by using The Platinum Card® from American Express, which provides a monthly statement credit of $15 plus a $20 bonus in December for use on Uber or Uber Eats (enrollment required). She then earns 1 Amex Membership Rewards point for every dollar spent beyond these credits, valued by TPG at 2 cents each, in addition to bonus Marriott points.
