Sailing Chic
I recently returned from an AMAZING cruise in the Caribbean thanks to Dinogo! This trip was absolutely incredible, and the ship was GORGEOUS! Strolling around the deck and soaking in the views was one of my favorite activities. Below are some outfits and accessories I wore that made me feel like I was truly 'sailing in style.'
While enjoying a vacation in the Caribbean, I strongly suggest opting for linen. It’s a lightweight and comfortable fabric ideal for sun exposure. A great pair of wedge shoes is also a must! I wore these wedges frequently... they’re neutral, match everything, and provide excellent support for all-day wear!
A hat is essential when cruising. I discovered that it was often quite windy on the ship, making hairstyling impractical. I genuinely wore this panama hat EVERY DAY! It’s the ideal 'vacation' hat, with a brim wide enough to shield my eyes from the sun.
Don’t forget to bring a watch!! With all the time zones you cross, it can be tricky to keep track of the time. I usually rely on my phone for this, but it doesn’t always match up with 'ship time.' Having a watch proved to be very convenient.
I advocate for wearing bold prints. They really help you stand out in a crowd. I got SO MANY compliments on this dress! Plus, it’s lightweight and super comfy.
Fewer layers are better when cruising.
Another practical tip for 'sailing in style' is to skip your underwear… and wear your swimsuit instead!! I found myself constantly in a swimsuit underneath my clothes since I never knew when I might want to take a dip in the pool, relax in one of the many hot tubs, or zoom down that awesome slide! It was such a hassle to head back to my room every time I wanted to change into my suit. So, I began incorporating it into my outfits.
I suggest wearing a reliable pair of deck shoes while onboard. I found myself wearing my white ones nearly every day! They easily complemented every outfit I put together.
I adore a good bikini. Personally, I found myself opting for a 'high-waisted' bikini bottom throughout the week. With all the delicious food I enjoyed on the ship, my high-waisted bikini proved to be quite practical!
There was only one day when the weather turned a bit cooler. I wore long linen pants paired with a lightweight trench coat. Naturally, I adhered to my bikini rule, and it paid off… moments later, I found myself relaxing in a nearby jacuzzi, watching the sunset.
On my final night aboard the ship, I chose to embrace a 'sailor theme.' When in Rome, right?
